Have you seen any of the finest minds of your generation being eaten alive by the excuses that they eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner? If you have been making a bunch of excuses, you are leaning on your inner child. And your inner child is not the person that you should ever be leaning on, when it comes to getting anything done in life. Your inner child is for fun and exploration, but it is not the powerful part of you that builds what it wants- it sees something outside of you as being more powerful than you are, and thus as something that you have got to appeal to. And thus, your inner child makes a lot of excuses for why you do not succeed at what you set out to do.
There is a very good way to gauge how much you have allowed your inner child to dictate your successes in life- and do not worry, since we all do this occasionally. All you have to do is encounter a bad situation, and see if you make more excuses for it, or make more corrections to it. Adults are able to take responsibility for what they either do incorrectly or do not do at all, while children will naturally make excuses and attempt to shift the blame away from themselves.
Consider that the people who make the most money in life are also the ones who make the least number of excuses. When something goes wrong with them, they usually find that they made some sort of mistake, or did not know something that it would have been a good idea to have known about earlier. So when it comes time to fix problems, while the losers of the world are busy trying to make it look as though things are not their fault, the winners of the world are busy actually finding the problem, owning up to and fixing it.
